These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all self-drive car rentals, bookings, and related services offered by Go Speed Car Rental (“Go Speed”, “we”, “us”, or “the Company”) in Odisha, India. By creating an account, placing a booking, paying any amount, collecting a vehicle, or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree, you must not book or use a Go Speed vehicle. Cancellation and refund rules are set out in our Refund Policy. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
1. Acceptance of Terms
A booking is confirmed only when Go Speed accepts it and the required payment is received. Checking the “I agree” box at checkout, signing a handover form, or taking delivery of the vehicle all constitute acceptance of these Terms, including charges that may arise after an accident, claim, or late return.
Go Speed may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your booking applies to that rental.
2. Roles & Responsibilities
The following roles apply to every Go Speed rental. Each party must act in good faith and follow applicable law.
The Company
Go Speed
- Provide a roadworthy, insured vehicle as booked (or a comparable alternative if the original car is unavailable).
- Explain pickup, return, fuel, and deposit rules at handover.
- Guide the renter through accident reporting, insurance claims, and authorized repairs.
- Maintain service records and arrange repairs at a Go Speed authorized workshop in Bhubaneswar / Odisha.
- Collect only those charges that are due under these Terms after inspection or insurer settlement.
The Customer
Renter
- Hold a valid driving licence and submit genuine documents before pickup.
- Use the vehicle lawfully, carefully, and only for the booked period and permitted purpose.
- Pay rental charges, security deposit, towing, insurance shortfalls, downtime, fines, and other amounts due under these Terms.
- Report accidents, breakdowns, or police involvement to Go Speed immediately.
- Cooperate fully in insurance, police, and legal processes until the matter is closed.
If named on the booking
Authorized Driver
- Must meet the same licence, age, and document requirements as the renter.
- May drive only if Go Speed has approved them in writing or on the booking record.
- Is bound by the same use, safety, and liability rules as the renter.
Emergency contact
Reference Contact
- A person nominated by the renter whom Go Speed may contact in an emergency, accident, overdue return, or unpaid dues.
- Is not automatically liable for rental charges unless they have agreed in writing to stand as guarantor.
- Must be reachable on a valid Indian mobile number provided at booking or handover.
The renter remains fully responsible for the vehicle and for the conduct of any authorized driver. Go Speed staff, partners, and authorized workshops act for the Company and are not a substitute for the renter’s duties.
3. Eligibility & Documents
Renters must hold a valid driving licence recognised in India and meet any age or document requirements shared at booking or pickup. You must provide accurate personal, contact, and licence details. Go Speed may refuse or cancel a booking if documents are incomplete, expired, mismatched, or reasonably appear to be forged.
A security deposit and original documents may be required at handover. Failure to produce them at the scheduled pickup time may be treated as a no-show under the Refund Policy.
4. Bookings & Payments
All bookings are subject to vehicle availability. Rental charges, taxes, security deposits, extra kilometres, late-return fees, and other applicable amounts will be shown before confirmation. Payments must be completed as instructed by Go Speed.
The renter authorises Go Speed to recover any amounts due under these Terms from the security deposit, saved payment method, or a subsequent invoice. Unpaid dues may attract follow-up until settled.
5. Vehicle Use
The vehicle must be used lawfully and with reasonable care. Without Go Speed’s prior written consent, you may not:
- Use the vehicle for racing, rallies, stunts, off-roading, or speed testing.
- Use the vehicle for illegal activity, sub-renting, or commercial passenger transport.
- Allow an unapproved person to drive.
- Carry more passengers or load than the vehicle is rated for.
- Take the vehicle outside the permitted operating area without approval.
- Tamper with meters, tracking devices, or identification plates.
Traffic fines, tolls, parking charges, and challans during the rental are the renter’s responsibility.
6. Responsibility During Rental
You are responsible for the vehicle from the moment of pickup until it is returned to Go Speed and inspected. This includes agreed fuel levels, accessories, documents kept in the car, and any damage caused by misuse or negligence, subject to the insurance rules below.
Return the vehicle on time, at the agreed location, in a reasonably clean condition. Late returns may be charged at the applicable hourly or daily rate plus any loss caused to the next booking.
7. Accidents, Breakdowns & Reporting
If an accident, breakdown, theft, fire, or any police involvement occurs, the renter must:
- Ensure safety first and call emergency services where required.
- Inform Go Speed immediately on +91 91246 27601 or WhatsApp.
- Not admit liability or settle with a third party without Go Speed’s instruction.
- Obtain a police FIR / NCR where the insurer or Go Speed requires it.
- Share photos, location, and a written account of the incident as soon as possible.
Do not arrange private repairs. All accident repairs must go through a Go Speed authorized service centre.
8. Towing Charges to Authorized Service Centre
In the event of an accident, breakdown caused by renter use, or any incident that requires the vehicle to be moved, the renter is responsible for paying the full towing charges from the incident location to a Go Speed authorized service centre in Bhubaneswar or another workshop nominated by Go Speed in Odisha.
- This applies regardless of towing distance or the total towing bill.
- Towing must be arranged or approved by Go Speed. Unapproved towing that causes further damage remains the renter’s liability.
- Roadside assistance included with the rental does not waive towing charges after an accident or renter-caused immobilisation.
9. Insurance Claim Differences
Go Speed vehicles are covered by insurance as disclosed at booking. Insurance does not always pay 100% of repair cost. The renter must pay any portion of repair, parts, labour, or related expense that the insurer does not settle, together with applicable claim processing charges.
Example. If the approved repair cost is ₹1,00,000 and the insurance company pays 90% (₹90,000), the renter pays the remaining 10% (₹10,000) plus Go Speed’s claim charges (for example, 10% claim charges on the claim amount, or the claim-charge amount stated at booking). The exact shortfall follows the insurer’s settlement letter.
The renter is also responsible for the policy excess / deductible, depreciation on parts where applied by the insurer, surveyor fees if billed to the insured, and any claim rejected because of delayed reporting, missing FIR, drunk driving, unauthorized driver, racing, or other policy breach.
10. Vehicle Downtime Charges (Loss of Business)
If the vehicle is off the road for repair because of an accident or damage attributable to the renter, Go Speed loses rental days. The renter must pay downtime charges at 50% of the vehicle’s applicable daily rental rate for each day (or part day) the car remains under repair, until it is certified ready to rent again.
Example. Daily rental rate ₹3,000. Repair period 10 days. Full rental value for those days = ₹30,000. Downtime payable by the renter = 50% = ₹15,000. Actual figures will use the booked vehicle’s daily rate and the workshop’s repair timeline.
Downtime is in addition to repair shortfalls, towing, and claim charges. Go Speed will share a reasonable estimate when the vehicle is booked into the workshop and a final amount when repairs are complete.
11. General Responsibilities After an Incident
- The renter must cooperate fully in all insurance, survey, police, and legal processes, including attending offices, signing claim papers, and providing documents on time.
- The renter is fully liable for all costs if damage is caused by intentional acts, negligent use, unauthorized drivers, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or violation of traffic laws.
- Where insurance is declined or reduced for any of the above reasons, the renter pays the entire repair cost, towing, downtime, and related expenses without limit to the deposit.
12. Cancellation & Refunds
Customer cancellations, no-shows, and Go Speed cancellations follow our Refund Policy. Go Speed may cancel a booking if required documents are incomplete, if payment fails, or if the vehicle becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances. In the last case, a full refund of amounts paid for that booking, or an alternative vehicle, will be offered.
13. Limitation of Liability
Go Speed is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from traffic, weather, road conditions, delays, or events outside our reasonable control, except where Indian law requires otherwise. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by Go Speed’s proven negligence, or for fraud.
Personal belongings left in the vehicle are the renter’s responsibility. Please remove all items at return.
14. Declaration & Acceptance
By confirming a booking, paying towards a rental, or taking delivery of a Go Speed vehicle, I declare that:
- I have read and understood these Terms and Conditions, including towing, insurance shortfall, downtime, and negligence rules.
- I accept full responsibility for the vehicle during the rental period and until it is inspected on return.
- I agree to pay all amounts that become due, including damages, towing, claim differences, downtime, fines, and extra usage charges.
- The documents and reference contact details I provide are true and complete.
Online checkout agreement or a signed handover form has the same effect as a wet-ink signature on this declaration.
